Royal Lancaster Infirmary ‘Learning Taster Sessions’ for staff

Morecambe Bay Hospitals ‘LIFELONG LEARNING PROJECT’ Learner Reps at the Royal Lancaster Infirmary, are holding seven informal demonstrations of stress management techniques in conjunction with Lancaster & Morecambe College.

We decided to hold these taster sessions in direct response to our recent Lifelong Learning Survey. We negotiated with the college to provide tuition for free, and we are promoting their follow-on courses in these topics to staff that attend the sessions. The taster courses are free of charge & all staff are welcome.

The taster courses are held on Wednesday Evenings and include:
  • Stencilling
  • Watercolours
  • Aromatherapy
  • Cosmetic Make Up & Colour Analysis
  • Body Massage
  • Healthier Lifestyle
  • Health & Fitness

There has been a fantastic response to the taster sessions with several ‘sold out’ just days after advertising.

Feedback from the three sessions already held, (Stencilling, Watercolours & Aromatherapy) has been excellent and there has been a very positive initial response to the follow-on courses at the college.

The aromatherapy class in action!

The taster courses have involved a tremendous amount of hard work from the Lancaster team but has been worthwhile, in fact we can’t wait to arrange the next batch.
