Learning Representatives The Learning Representatives Role at Morecambe Bay Our TUC trained Union Learning Representatives can assist staff in Personal Development Planning and accessing learning opportunities. They can help open email accounts, explain all the training and development courses that are available through the Trust, including the NHS LA scheme, covering NVQS, Learn at Work, Personal and Clinical Skills and IT courses. They can also provide information about local college courses. Union Learning Representatives can arrange for you to attend a Careers' Clinic to plan your career pathway. Through our FE college partners our Learning Representatives can organise a variety of Taster sessions covering both personal and work-related learning for staff to access free of charge on site. They also help staff who wish to improve their reading, writing, spelling and maths skills or their English speaking skills and can organise introduction to computer courses for staff who want to develop their IT skills and can provide information on further IT courses. The Lifelong Learning Project can provide Taster sessions and reading, writing, maths and spelling courses and basic computer skills courses for staff free of charge to enable staff to try something new and to try to encourage and support NHS staff to develop new skills. Staff can arrange to have a confidential personal one-to-one meeting with any of the Union Learning Reps to discuss any learning issues.
