Whitehall
On-line provides you with information and
materials in two ways:
- Materials and
information produced specifically for Whitehall On-line
- Materials produced
in collaboraion with other organisations and partners
Generally these
should be delivered to you as a collective body of resources irrespective
of their actual location on the internet. To do this Whitehall On-line
uses a gateway. It is this gateway which is lost by not using the recommended
browser settings.
Areas of interest,
or routes, have been subdivided as six headings which encompass all
of the site resources: Enter, Learn, Read, Talk,
MSF and Help. Within each section further options are
provided that guide you swiftly to the information and resources you
need.
Often you will
find that resources are delivered to you in an additional browser
window. This has been done to make sure that you never lose touch with
the Whitehall On-line gateway even though you may be working
through a lengthy set of resources which themselves require full screen
space.
To get back to
the Whitehall On-line gateway either:
- Close the additional
window, or
- Minimise the
additional window, or
- Use your Alt
and Tab keys together to move through the windows open on your machine,
or
- Use the Task
bar (Windows 95, 98 or NT4/5) to locate the Whitehall On-line
gateway
