Many of the images used within Whitehall On-line are designed as good quality colour graphics. If you have enough video memory (the computer power that controls the display) you may find it worthwhile increasing the amount of colours your monitor screen can display. The simplest way to find out if your monitor has more power than it is currently using is to try to alter it in the computer's Control Panel to a higher value. Options may include: 16, 256, High Color or True Color. True Color provides you with as many colours as can be detected by the human eye- 16.7 million! You can't do any harm by messing around with the display settings, though remember what it says before you start changing things - just in case. |
