The Certificate in Global Labour Studies is a unique course of study. Specially designed by professionals at the University of Leeds in partnership with Amicus and Labour and Society International, the certificate is available for study to all Amicus members.
The course covers the meaning of globalisation, its impact on the world of work and on people in the developed 'North' and the less developed countries of the 'South'. In particular the course examines the role of trade unions and asks how solidarity between the workers of different countries can survive in the face of globalising free trade.
The Certificate in Global Labour Studies is not a dry academic course - it is a lively and exciting programme where you will be expected to be active at your workplace or in your local community. This course will help you develop greater understanding of international issues, gain a university certificate and at the same time make the world a better place. That's why our project is called 'Amicus MSF - working for a better world'.
