Whitehall On-line has been designed to support the delivery of Whitehall College's educational materials and to make the services offered by the college more accessible. Whitehall College acknowledges the diversity of the Amicus membership and its need for a more flexible approach to learning.

The site makes use of some of the most powerful technologies available on the Internet. In using the site members will expand upon their Internet skills.

Whitehall On-line offers in-built support to members using these new technologies. This ensures that all members can benefit from the learning opportunities offered here - irrespective of previous computer experience.

The Virtual Learning Centre

The Whitehall On-line virtual learning centre takes the form of a building:

• to provide a familiar environment to aid navigation
• to identify distinct sections, or floors, to house the different activities
• to create a metaphor which allows for future expansion
• to create a motif which can become a familiar location for the people who use Whitehall On-line.
