Open
& Distance Learning
The development
of Amicus open and distance learning courses has been made possible
through its educational partnership with the University of Leeds.
- The open and
distance learning courses allow students to arrange learning time
to fit in with their work and home life.
- They give students
the flexibility of starting the course when they want and studying
when it best suits them.
- Amicus open
and distance learning courses are free to Amicus members.
- The only cost
to members is the individual accreditation fee which is payable to
the University of Leeds.
- There are no
entry qualifications or requirements for the level one open and distance
learning modules, and anyone in Amicus can apply.
- All ODL students
are allocated an experienced and supportive University of Leeds tutor.
- Each module
is worth 10 or 20 credits, and requires between 60 - 120 hours of
independent study.
- This includes
reading, finding things out, thinking, writing and doing course activities.
- An open and
distance learning module should take about 4 months to complete.
