The Whitehall On-line Seminar Rooms are areas in which you can come and go to participate in discussions relating to the themes you find presented here. The themes have been selected by tutors involved in the courses at Whitehall College.

Seminar Rooms therefore should not be confused with the Debating Rooms - it's a matter of time. Here in the Seminar Rooms your input to a discussion should be more considered. A discussion happening over a period of time might encourage you to go away to do some research or to check on some facts which you can then bring back as a contribution to the ongoing theme.

In the Debating Rooms the discussions happen in real time. It requires that more than one person is on-line so that a live 'chat' can take place. Debates therefore will be more lively, though perhaps not provide the quality offered by seminar discussion.

You can always use the seminar areas to schedule meetings in the Whitehall Cyber Cafe or other debating areas.
