Motivating Success: Achieving Ambitions

The Manchester Women's Electronic Village Hall has recently completed an ESF funded research project that explores the ambitions women have when setting up in business, the extent to which they achieved their ambitions and whether the level of business support available to them is sufficient.

The research shows that while women often express their ambitions in non-monetary ways and cite a wide variety of reasons why they decided to start-up in business, nevertheless their overriding motivation once self-employed is to make money. The findings identified the need for expert advice for women who are already in business but need support to survive and then grow their business.

This newly completed research was undertaken by Dr Vanessa Hogbin (Strategic Solutions) and is available to download as a .pdf file, click here to download it to your computer.
