14. INT. STELLA'S FLAT IN KENSINGTON NIGHT. STELLA PACES THE ROOM. OLIVER LOUNGES IN A CHAIR. STELLA I'm frightened, Oliver. I'm sure somebody is watching the flat. OLIVER Nonsense. you're imagining things. STELLA You must believe me. There's somebody there now. SHE GOES TO THE WINDOW AND LOOKS CAREFULLY THROUGH THE CURTAIN. 15 EXT. THE STREET OUTSIDE STELLA'S FLAT. STELLA'S POV. A MAN IN A LONG RAINCOAT AND A TRILBY, SMOKING A CIGARETTE, IS ON THE OPPOSITE PAVEMENT, HE DOES NOT LOOK AT THE HOUSE. 16. EXT. A LONDON PARK. DAY MENDIP AND PRINGLE SIT ON A BENCH. MENDIP IS THROWING BREAD TO THE DUCKS. MENDIP Have you anything further to report? PRINGLE The house is being watched twenty four hours. MENDIP Does she know? PRINGLE It's hard to say. Probably. Wilcox was there last night MENDIP Oliver Wilcox? Was he, indeed? This is beginning to interest me. 17 EXT. THE STREET OUTSIDE STELLA'S FLAT. DAY ANOTHER MAN STANDS IN THE SAME PLACE. STELLA COMES OUT OF THE HOUSE, GETS INTO HER CAR AND DRIVES OFF. THE MAN TAKES OUT HIS MOBILE PHONE. 18 INT. MENDIP'S OFFICE. DAY. MENDIP SITS AT HIS DESK, LOOKING AT SOME PHOTOGRAPHS. THE INTERNAL PHONE RINGS. HE PICKS IT UP. MENDIP Yes? HE LISTENS. Well, what a surprise. Show her in. HE HURRIEDLY PUTS THE PHOTOGRAPHS AWAY IN A DRAWER. HE STANDS AS HIS SECRETARY SHOWS IN STELLA. Stella, how nice to see you. STELLA LOOKS AT HIM IN ASTONISHMENT. STELLA You?
