PROSECUTOR And what conclusion have you come to? PRISONER I reject it. PROSECUTOR Do you know what you're saying? Do you realise.... PRISONER (Wearily) Yes, I realise. I'm not a fool. I realise accepting your offer is the only way I can save my life. But there are things more important than my life. That's what you people can never understand. The Movement will continue without me. But I cannot betray the Movement. PROSECUTOR Is that your last word? PRISONER It is. PROSECUTOR Then you leave me no alternative. BLACKOUT ACT ONE. SCENE FOUR A CELL. THE PRISONER SITS ON A WOODEN BENCH. A WARDER STANDS GUARD. WARDER It looks as though we're going to have a nice day for it. PRISONER Does it? WARDER The wind's blowing fair.
