All the club’s playing sessions take place on Mondays and follow a basic duplicate bridge format.
The morning session, which is held from 10:00 to 12:30pm, is primarily for beginners and improvers. The idea of this session is that beginners who have attended the initial classes, and improvers who wish to capitalize on their skills without pressure, can do so in a relaxed atmosphere. Whilst experienced players are not excluded from this session, and their support for the less experienced members is welcomed, they may prefer to attend the more competitive Monday evening sessions for a greater challenge of their skills. We have a number of members who attend both sessions.
The evening session is held from 7.30 pm to approx 10.30 pm. It is open to all club members and the results are made available by email as soon as possible thereafter. At the present time each session is scored as a stand-alone one. The benefit to members is that if they win, their next session is free of table money. The Club does not currently keep a results ladder, although this may be a possibility for the future.
The Club runs beginners’ classes and these take place on Monday afternoons. A maximum of 8 players can be accommodated at any one time. Attendees will be expected to become members of the club and make a contribution towards the cost of the lessons.
