When everyone up here knew something else down there who, we were
smug in our back-to-backs in Burley, far from killings, Next door
Ron and Rita sympathised with London folks gleefully; anyone
who could afford a house in South-East England having had
it coming, any bugger daft enough to spend three hours
a day, fifteen a week, seven hundred odd a year, bar
holidays and Christmas - that's twenty frigging
working weeks wasted getting to work. it's
alright to visit, but you wouldn't go back
