Many gods wait to be invoked or summoned, but not MORGAN LE FAY, Morgan the Fate. She is one of nine sisters who, in Irish folklore, rule the Fortunate Isles in the far west where heroes go to die.

The other eight have emigrated to north America to become goddesses of the frontier and the space race, but Morgan has stayed in the British Isles. She reads the Sporting Life and the Tarot, and is a devotee of the roulette-wheel. She likes to sortie out randomly, giving people pools wins or heart attacks quite arbitrarily.

How pleased Morgan is at the instigation of the UK national lottery, a device to fleece the poor in order to aid the causes of the rich, while occasionally rewarding quite by chance some hapless person or family with so much money, they become desperately unhappy...
