DYSPEPSIA - Harmless but irritating offspring of the fearful and serpentine, "Colitis" and her persistent lover, "Indigestia". Thought to be responsible for many of the world's minor ills. e.g. road rage, boardroom coups, abandonment by TV executives of new scripts by promising writers.
Dyspepsia is the arch enemy of "Enos", "Tagamet" and "Gaviscon", but close ally of "Vindaloo", "Bacchus" and "Doner Kebab". She is almost always worshipped nocturnally.
The goddess, like most television writers, is almost never portrayed with a smiling face and can always be relied on to materialise just before script conferences.
