500 VOICES

Hebden Bridge's packhorse bridge is 500 years old in 2010. A whole host of events are celebrating the occasion, as you can see on the HB500 website.

We want to celebrate with 500 voices singing on and around the bridge on Sunday 4th July. The event will also be part of Hebden Bridge Arts Festival.

We're proposing:

• one or more songs that everyone performs, of which at least one has been specially commissioned from Daniel Bath: see the score here or listen to a personal recording of it by Daniel's family here
• at least one song led by each of many participating choirs, with a chorus, which others will know about in advance so they can rehearse it

Come and join us. Calder Valley Voices and the Hepton Singers will be there. As will many other choirs from communities, churches and schools. Let's make a bigger noise than the street choirs festival in 2002 (when our picture was taken). We can be 500 voices!
