Activities in 2001

The PAN AP Campaign on GE in 2001 and beyond continues and intensifies the momentum set in previous years. The work focuses on:

• specific research and analysis on GE developments in the region;
• strengthening of PAN AP's support for the campaigns of our local partners (for which PAN AP has recognized leadership) as the push of GE intensifies in the region;
• continuing and improving our information systems on GE for outreach to, and use by, partners, the media, and other networks; and
• following through on the action plans for public awareness raising, coalition building on GE, promotion of sustainable agriculture and indigenous knowledge etc., as discussed at the 2000 GE workshop.
