 This special subsite will be a resource for anyone wanting to know more about how these places work, and is looking for other examples to compare with Manchester’s Northern Quarter. The list for the UK includes Sheffield’s Cultural Industries Quarter, the Hamilton Quarter on Merseyside, the Huddersfield Creative Town project, the Made in Hackney site, and many others.   

We will also be including places elsewhere in Europe - like Dublin’s Temple Bar, and places in the USA. In the US many of the cultural quarters are designated as historic districts. There are now over 90 of them, according to a new report.
