Members receive full legal representation for accidents at work, or arising out of their employment. The Union may also provide legal assistance for accidents occurring outside of work. All questions regarding this must be dealt with by the local Union Office. The Union will represent members at Employment Tribunals in respect of unfair dismissal, discrimination, redundancy, and other matters covered by employment law. Members should contact their Union Office before pursuing any claims. The Union will also
provide representation where members require assistance with unemployment,
sickness or other Social Security Benefit matters. |

weeks at £18 per week. (Should a strike or lock-out extend over a longer
period than 12 weeks, the National Executive Committee has power to use
its discretion in agreeing further benefit). |

Death Benefit of £1,500 will be paid to the Estate of any member sho dies
before the age of 65. For members aged 65 and over, a Death Benefit of £300 will be paid over to their Estate. |

| Members
with problems concerning housing/property, consumer matters, debt, motoring
offences, divorce, wills, nationality, etc., should consult their Union
office with regard to seeking advice from a solicitor. |

| Members
can now enjoy discounts on a wide range of goods and services. Your Members
Gold Card, which also doubles as your union membership card, can be used
to obtain discounts at the counter or over the phone from participating
companies. You can also use your card to buy vouchers and receive discount
through a cheque back scheme. Look for businesses with the PPC logo in the
window, or ring the PPC Helpline on 01772 451819 to find out who is in the
scheme. Your new Gold Card should be available soon. If you don't receive
one in the next couple of weeks, please contact your KFAT Office. |

can now apply for a no-fee Mastercard that offers a low APR of just 13.9%.
And you pay just 6.9% APR for the first six months on balances transferred
from other credit or store cards. The card has no interest free period so
will suit anyone who doesn’t pay off their credit balance in full each month.

a KFAT member, you can have a straightforward Will prepared, free of charge.
At the same time, your partner can also have a Will prepared at a cost of
£25 plus VAT (Wills that are not straightforward may attract a separate

Costs will depend on the actual value of the sale/purchase, so why not ask
for a quote, and compare it to what is available on the high street. Contact

| KFAT
members and their immediate family can seek compensation for injury resulting
from an accident at or away from work, anywhere in the UK. The service is
free, and you are covered 24 hours a day, seven days a week. Contact your
KFAT Office for a claim form. |

KFAT membership is excellent value for money. Our rates are well below the average contribution levels of other UK unions, making KFAT one of the least expensive unions in the European Union. Scale One: Open to all members, the rate from the 1st January, 2001 is £1.75 per week. Members paying this rate are entitled to all the KFAT benefits listed above. Scale Two: £0.88 per
week from 1st January 2001, open only to members working 16 hours a week
or less. However, members on this rate are not entitled to sickness benefit,
and death benefit is limited to £1000. |
