TUPE has created difficulties for both employers and workers over the last 20 years. The GPMU welcomes the decision by the Government to review this legislation. However, we do not want this review to place even greater emphasis on the needs of a business over the Government's responsibility to conform to the Acquired Rights Directive and the need to give greater protection to employees caught up in the middle of a transfer.
