Help on using IPA fonts
- You must use the IPA font specified on the resource - IPA fonts are not interchangeable in the way that fonts for ordinary spelling are.
- Any resource that requires a font tells you where to download it from. Downloading takes only a few seconds.
- Store the downloaded font in your Windows Fonts or WINNT Fonts folder. You may need to double-click the font (so that it displays itself) in order to activate it.
- Most browers include a facility to "ignore fonts specified on Web pages" (in Internet Explorer 5.0, for example, look for "accessibility"). If the resource is an html file, then you must turn this "ignore" flag off - i.e. uncheck its box - or the browser will simply ignore the IPA font.
- Some browsers don't display IPA fonts particularly well, but they look fine if you print the page.
- If the resource is a pdf file, you don't need to download any fonts.
